New Roof in a Day Impossible? Edmonton Roofer Does it 99% of the Time!

Trevor: Hey there! Welcome back to Brown’s Roofing YouTube channel. I’m Trevor, and I’m here with Lyle Brown. He’s the owner and operator of Brown’s Roofing, and today we’re going to be talking about something I think is pretty unique to you: your “Roof in a Day” service. Let’s get started. What’s your claim to fame? What is “Roof in a Day” all about?

Lyle: “Roof in a Day” just means about 90% of our jobs are completed in one day. How we do that is pretty obvious—you need a lot more manpower and specific systems for removing old shingles.

A lot of companies are okay with smaller crews of two, three, maybe four guys max. For us, we believe in keeping all of our employees together. On any given day, we’ll have seven, eight, or even up to ten guys on one roof. That’s mainly how we do it. The more guys you have, the faster the job gets done.

We don’t believe in spreading ourselves thin and having these small crews working here and there with minimal support. We’d rather keep all of our guys together to make sure the jobs are getting done in one day.

A Unique Approach

Trevor: That’s pretty good! I haven’t heard of many other roofing companies doing a roof in a day. There might be one or two, but it seems like the manpower makes a big difference. You must have some good systems in place too. How long did it take you to develop this process?

Lyle: You know, it’s something I picked up over the years. I just noticed how other companies operate. Honestly, it seems like common sense to me. Why not have all your guys on one roof instead of spreading them out?

I’ve seen how some bigger companies work—they’ll have eight or nine crews, but none of them are doing a roof in a day. Some of those crews take three or four days to finish one roof.

Efficiency in Action

Trevor: I get that. I was telling you last time about the neighbor’s roof next to mine. It wasn’t a big house, but it seemed like it took them a week to finish. There was a mix-up with the shingles, but even without that, it took them a long time.

It’s different from your approach—ripping it off and putting a new one on in the same day. What kind of feedback do you get from clients about this?

Lyle: Everyone so far has been very pleased and happy with the service. Sometimes customers are a little taken aback at first when they hear we can do it in a day. But after I explain how we do it—bringing in eight to ten guys—they understand.

Some clients worry that doing it fast means we’re cutting corners. But once they know we’re bringing a big crew and taking photos throughout the project, they’re at ease.

Track Record and Quality

Trevor: That’s good. People probably think, “A roof in a day? Are they skipping steps?” But you’ve been in business for a while. What’s your track record like?

Lyle: Our track record is great. We don’t get callbacks, no leaks, no blown-off shingles. Everything’s been going well.

Trevor: No leaks or issues with ice damming in the winter?

Lyle: None at all. We focus on having a big team on the roof so the workload is spread evenly. There’s no one guy doing all the shingles, overworking his back while others stand around. With multiple guys installing, the job gets done right.

Warranty and Peace of Mind

Trevor: That’s awesome. What’s your warranty again?

Lyle: Our workmanship warranty is ten years.

Trevor: That’s impressive. And the manufacturers?

Lyle: Manufacturer warranties are pretty standard—10 to 25 years for materials and labor, and then pro-rated after that.

Setting a New Standard in Roofing

Trevor: So, you’ve got a 10-year workmanship guarantee, you finish roofs in a day, and you haven’t had anyone call you on that warranty yet. That’s amazing.

Lyle: Thanks! We’re definitely competing with the best, and our goal is always to lead the industry. Homeowners don’t want roofers banging away for days. They appreciate a timely job, and we strive to be the best in all areas, especially efficiency and quality.

The Brown’s Roofing Difference

Trevor: I don’t see many companies promoting this. You’ve built a reputation for being fast, efficient, and reliable. With a 10-year workmanship guarantee and high-quality materials, you’re really setting the standard.
